Okay so to preface this post since it’s my first one; I’m not really into the whole “Paranormal” shit so I doubt I’m gonna be a regular here. I just need some help figuring out what the fuck this thing is and whether or not it’s supernatural; and if so, if it’s dangerous.
Before I jump right in and start explaining the woman in question I’m gonna give everyone a bit of background that might help with “cryptid identification” or whatever this forum does. I go to UCSC in Santa Cruz and my roommate works as a ranger at one of the state parks nearby.
About every other week for the past two months or so someone at the park finds a skeleton that’s basically been picked clean, gnawed on, and cracked open. Bones are always next to each other with fresh blood and fur still on the ground which seems to imply they’re recent, but bones don’t get THAT clean that quickly. They also have some WEIRD as fuck toothmarks.
At first my roommate thought it was a bunch of different animals doing it but the scenes they found em in are too similar for it to NOT be the same thing.
Next weird thing was that the bones weren’t from any kind of forest animal. After he showed me photos of the skulls they’d found(I’m a bio major), they were pretty easy to identify as sheep and goat… Which doesn’t make much sense considering we don’t have any sheep or goat farms around here as far as I know of but it’s easy to imagine people having a private herd of either near the park so it’s not that weird.
The REALLY strange part comes from what else they've found near one of the bone piles.
Second time this happened one of my roommate’s coworkers found a small pile of noxious smelling pale rubber that's white and textureless on one side and rough, gooey and black on the other along with some massive oddly shaped teeth.
Obviously, since they’re not fucking idiots, they took the stuff with them to look into more but by the time my roommate brought it to me the next day the rubber had decayed into a weird black goo that smelled like a fire hazard(and IS flammable) and melted the plastic bag they had put it in.
All that shit would be weird enough on it’s own but the rangers have ALSO been getting reports of some weird fucking naked woman. From the area in the park we’ve been finding the skeletons. Who just sort of stares at people until they try to approach and she runs off. Yeah.
Roommate and I, along with the whole park staff have been pretty much in agreement that this lady’s the one who’s been doing this. And until yesterday we were convinced she was just high and that the weird flammable rubber and “Tooth” were some kind of underground drug paraphernalia none of us were familiar with(Yes, we got the cops involved don’t worry).
Then my roommate caught her eating.
I didn’t see it myself but apparently he caught her from the side. She was leaning over a half eaten goat carcass chewing what was presumably some of the body, blood all over her body and in her hair. He just kinda watched her for a second as she--and I shit you not-- leaned back over the thing and turned her head INSIDE OUT to use the jagged broken edges of the two haves of her skull as TEETH to take another fucking bite of dead animal. This was the point my roommate booked it in the opposite direction. He didn’t see her reaction and obviously he lived to tell the tale so she either didn’t pursue him or couldn’t catch him.
None of the other park rangers believed him. I know this sounds insane but I’ve known my roommate for a long ass time there’s no way he’d make shit like that up. Sadly, no one’s seen her for more then a couple seconds so there’s no photos of her I can upload(Sorry. I know that would probably be better “proof” then the other photos I sent but I don’t have one.)
Does anyone know anything about something like this? We’re not sure what to do now...

That aside, this thread is certainly a delightful change of pace. From what I can find there’s no recorded cryptid like that where OP’s from so I have no idea whether it’s dangerous or not. It’s possible this is the first recorded instance.

@Yttrium What about something that isn’t from the immediate area? Maybe from somewhere else in California or the West Coast? It could be that she’s moved recently; she only showed up in April.

She looks pretty human. She’s around 5’3, very pale with EXTREMELY long, curly black hair, and has an almost unsettlingly “perfect” looking face. Kind of disturbing in the same way a doll’s is.
Also if she replaced my roommate than why would she tell me about herself? That seems like it kinda defeats the point to me.

I’m not Yttrium but the only humanoid cryptids from California are the Dark Watchers and she’s not one of them.
She’s an alien, VERY lost, or you’ve found something brand new. If she’s lost, she’s a black eyed child. Those have been spotted in Oregon, which if you don’t know is bordering California.

An Alien seems most plausible to me. Some disguise themselves as humans to seem less suspicious. You lot remember the smiling man, don't you? The weird behavior and strange way of eating could definitely point to that. If it’s even eating at all. Collecting samples? The rubbery substance could be a disguise. I can’t place the teeth though.
@Acnt4WeirdS* What time of the day is it usually spotted? I’d suggest setting up some cameras in the area you keep finding the skeletons. It would be absolutely mental if you got a video or picture.

However we should name her species if we find that she doesn’t match any known alien species... Only once we get enough information to decide this of course.

Yeah, sorry for the late reply again. The weekend was crazy. Nothing new happened with the lady but I had work.
To answer Yttrium’s question she’s usually spotted around morning or evening. Never really at night or during the day. Which makes me think she’s probably crepuscular.
I took some of Yttrium’s advice and got a couple old battery powered hunting cameras at a thrift store to set up. They’re pretty cheap so we’re gonna have to go collect them again at some point to get the data. I gave em to my roommate today and he should be setting them up at the park today. He’s probably gonna go collect them NEXT monday so we should have the results by then. If there’s nothing on them we’ll just put em back and try again I guess.
Okay now that that’s out of the way what I’ve gathered is you guys think she’s an alien of some kind? Are aliens dangerous? How do we deal with her? She’s really been freaking out park goers.

Has she hurt anyone? If not, leave her the fuck alone and try not to piss her off. Messing with her directly WILL make it worse. She’s just a weird quirk of the park right now. She might not be later if she starts feeling threatened.
Also… it’s not automatically a fucking alien just because that’s the first theory that made a marginal amount of sense.
Especially since it’s from Xtreme. Remember when he convinced everyone the racoon with mange in that guy from texas‘s back yard was a fucking chupacabra?
What we know right now is that:
We need more info on her before we DECIDE she’s a fucking alien. Plus, I’m weird and I pass for human just fine. Maybe people just caught her at a bad time? Even if she really couldn’t there’s plenty of other reasons besides being a fucking immigrant that a monster from a different part of the world could end up in the US of A.
Also… immigrants can have kids you know… Mind blowing, isn’t it?

That being said, that is a decent point, Li. There’s not really anything on that list that screams “Alien”. So then, what other kind of thing fits that description?
Now that I think about it. “Naked woman in the woods” should probably have immediately lit up a bright red alarm light with the word “Witch” on it. That could explain the shapeshifting and anti-social behavior. Maybe the strange diet and bone piles if it’s part of a ritual.
This doesn’t really explain the flammable rubber or crepuscular circadian rhythm, though. If it’s shapeshifting by magical means it wouldn’t leave any matter behind during the process...
And I’m not convinced leaving it alone to it’s own devices is a great idea. We don’t know what it’s doing out in the woods; it could be working up to preying on humans for all we know.
