Yeah… I really don’t think doing anything that could risk a forest fire is a good idea.
Cops never did anything. Just keep shrugging it off with “we’re working on it” whenever asked about it.(GREAT use of our hard earned tax dollars, guys!) I don’t think they’d be able to do anything about it anyways. They still think it’s some chick on drugs.
I talked with my roommate. He doesn’t want to go looking for her with me so I’m going on my own. He has work tomorrow so he’ll be at the park with a walkie talkie; he’s just not coming with me to actually look for her.
I’m packing my camelbak with all the shit @RainbohSkittelz mentioned, my digital camera, and some other basic supplies tonight. Gonna head out to the park with my roommate at the asscrack of dawn tomorrow morning.
If I don’t find her by the time she falls asleep for the day I’ll check in with my roommate and hang out in his car until dusk and try again then.

I’m not dead. I’m fine.
Kind of… I’ve got a third degree burn on my left arm, I watched WATER catch on fire, it’s three AM, and there’s no way I’m gonna be getting any sleep tonight.
but… I’m still in once piece and things didn’t go THAT poorly all things considered.
Got there at 4 am this morning and sat at the ranger station with my roommate for a while eating breakfast and working up the nerve to head out. Made it to the part of the woods she’s been hanging out in just before sunrise.
Not much happened until about 10 am. The day was starting to settle in and I was heading back to the ranger station to wait for the evening. I was about halfway back when I smelled blood.
I don’t like the smell of blood on a good day but I’m pretty tough. Today, however, it made me want to wretch and I felt like someone was shoving pennies up my nose.
It was strong. I didn’t want to but I pulled out my camera and started walking towards the direction I thought it was coming from. I told my roommate about it over the walkie talkie and turned it off so the sound wouldn’t give me away.
I heard running water and realized I was probably headed towards the creek. Which discouraged me a bit because the creek I’m talking about is pretty close to a road. I figured it might have just been roadkill that crawled further into the woods to die.
Nope. Wasn’t roadkill.
The pile of clean broken bones was lying by the side of the creek. Fresh blood on the ground and everything. The rubbery stuff and teeth were close by too. I could see it from the pile of bones about 20 meters away upstream.
I decided to follow the creek for a while to see if the woman had kept going upstream after she ditched the stuff. I sunk back into the woods just out of view of the creek so I’d be able to catch her off guard if she was still by it.
I only walked for about 10 minutes before I found her. She was sitting by the stream as I’d expected, splashing water onto her face and limbs to clean off some of the final watered down remnants of blood and a weird black goo. The goo spread out, floated on top of the water, and shone with colors like an oil slick when she washed it off.
I don’t remember turning my camera on or pointing it but I remember the loud, artificial sound of the shutter click it made when I snapped a photo.
The woman tensed as the echo reverberated through the woods. The skin of her back squirmed and thick bumps rippled over it. It looked sort of like when someone presses their tongue against the inside of their cheek.
She straightened up and took in a long, deep breath. I think she was smelling the air but I couldn’t really tell you for sure. After what felt like a fucking hour of waiting she turned to face me. She didn’t look like she was feeling anything; it felt like she was looking through me. I don’t know why no one mentioned her eyes. They were a light, almost milky shade of red. Not really like someone with albinism. Just… weird…
After a while of just staring at me she pulled herself to her feet and stepped closer. It wasn’t unhinged, animalistic, or anything like how I’d expected her to move. She walked calmly and with purpose, but slowly.
I was shitting my pants at this point but something was keeping me anchored in place. I couldn’t bring myself to run or even to look away. It was like she had control over me.
When she was about half of the way to me I heard a loud crack or crunch come from her skull. Her jaw dropped open, tilted to a slight angle as it stretched wider; the skin of her cheeks tore and peeled away as widening of her jaw pushed it past it’s limit. The human looking teeth on the bottom of her jaw twisted outward with pressure from below before finally popping out and falling to the forest floor, the new set of irregular jagged dentition that forced them out immediately replacing them. The teeth on the top of her mouth stayed in place, unchanged.
The woman leaned forward towards me and let out a gargled breathy hiss that sounded like an alligator mixed with the fucking jet setting of a garden hose. Her mouth was close enough to my neck to where I could feel her breath against it. It was cold and smelled like gasoline.
I was half expecting her to bite down and fucking eat me right then and there until I felt her hand wrap around my wrist. The cold of the river water against my skin snapped me from my trance and I jerked my head down to the sight of her other hand reaching for the camera I was clutching with white knuckles.
I just sort of watched in awe for a few seconds as she fumbled to get the camera out of my grasp.
“Let go.”
I hadn’t expected her to speak, let alone as clearly as she did. Especially considering the current state of her jaw. It was soft, deep, and strikingly normal. Monotone, but nothing a human couldn’t sound like. The only other strange thing about it was that it didn’t come from her throat like yours or mine. It was coming from somewhere deeper in her chest.
I obediently released my grip on the camera, relinquishing it to her as soon as she ordered me to. She leaned away from my neck, shuffled back, and turned her attention down to the camera she held in delicately clawed hands.
Her jaw shut, the oversized teeth sticking out over her upper lip like an angler fish as she began to press buttons seemingly at random. She flicked through old photos and took about half a dozen new ones of our feet across from each other and the forest floor. Eventually she grew tired of aimless pressing and let out a low huffy growl.
“How do I get rid of it?” Her mouth didn’t move when she spoke. I kind of suspected that, but was still caught off guard by her question.
“...What?” I knew what she was asking but didn’t really expect her to ask it.
“The picture you took of me. I know you can get rid of it with one of these buttons. Which button is it.”
“Why don’t you want to be in photos?”
“Is it this button?”
“Are you an alien?”
“I think I’ve pressed all of them… do I have to press one twice to get rid of it?” She proceeded to take another photograph of her foot at this point. The emotionlessness static of her voice was slowly being replaced by a faint tone of desperate frustration.
“What are you doing here?”
“Can you PLEASE JUST HELP ME?!” Her tone shifted in an instant, the once near melodic voice was replaced with an enraged demonic snarl.
I winced as her hand tightened into a fist around my camera. The plastic casing shattered with a small spark and a quick puff of smoke, indicating the internal electronic’s intention on permanent cessation of function. There went the photos.
She let it fall to the ground and stepped over it to get closer to me, jaw stretching open and cocking to the side once more with another cringe-worthy crack of bone. “I didn’t want to break your thing but you made me.” Her voice had returned to something closer to human but wasn’t in the same monotone it was before. It sounded shaky and nervous, in a stark contrast to the terrifying sight of those teeth getting ever closer to my flesh.
She didn’t sound as nervous as I would gather I sounded, though. I was a wreck. “Are you going… are… are you going to eat me...?”
She stopped dead in her tracks after I’d stuttered the whole sentence out. The part of her face that still looked human enough to emote in a meaningful way formed a concerned expression. She stayed silent for a couple of seconds as her eyes darted over my face before locking with my own and speaking, emotionless and stoic once more.
“Is that what this is about?”
I never responded to her query. I was going to and had just about worked up the nerve when the second spark from the camera on the forest floor made both of us jump.
The camera had fucking exploded.
And unluckily for her, her hair was trailing RIGHT on top of it.
Before I knew it the bottom it was on fire and she was screaming bloody murder. In an attempt to get the fire away from her before it got out of hand she grabbed her hair and essentially ripped it straight off of her scalp. Parts of her skin went with it, leaving behind a fresh layer of coated with that chemical smelling black goo right underneath.
She wasn’t fast enough, though. It was already at her hands before she could toss it away. The fire quickly engulfed her body and spread across her skin, which bubbled and sloughed off. An endless chain of new layers of skin were beneath, ready to replace the top layer as soon as it burned away. The fire took on a bright blue-green hue as more of her body acted as fuel for the flames.
She tripped, fell onto her back and tossed the burning bundle of charred hair forward away from herself as she shrieked and writhed in a blind panic.
Tossed it directly in front of herself. Right where I was standing... Yeah...
The bundle of hair hit me right on my arm and melted to it. It hurt REALLY bad. I tried to shake my arm but I couldn’t get the burning goo all the way off so obviously I started freaking out.
It was at this point that me and the woman got the same idea. Both of us went straight for the creek. I got there first cause I was still standing and I’m pretty sure the flames were making it hard for her to see. I fell forward into it and plunged my arm in as quickly as I could. The fire went out right away but the goo hardened and fused to my arm like melted plastic.
I didn’t have much time to worry about it before she got in the creek upstream from me, though. At first it looked like the fire went out but then she started bleeding that oil-slick stuff that floated on top of the water.
Now, this is going to sound extremely stupid, but have any of you seen all dogs go to heaven? You know that scene at the end of the movie where gasoline gets all over the ocean and it lights on fire?
Imagine that happening but electric green and in a tiny ass creek.
Luckily, I managed to get out of the water before the fire reached the part I was sitting in but the flames were fucking ROARING and spreading downtream fast. I was scared some of the detritus around the lake was gonna light on fire so I fucking BOOKED it for the nearby road and turned my walkie talkie back on to tell my roommate what the fuck just happened and to ask him to come get me.
That’s pretty much all the exciting shit that happened today. I ended up going to the hospital and we just got home like 15 minutes ago. My arm’s super fucked up and I can’t really move my hand yet so typing this out took quite a while. Sorry if there’s any typos.
I ended up not needing surgery because the hair gunk was so solid that they were actually able to peel it by putting some petroleum jelly under the edges and slowly working it off. But my arm’s still bandaged the fuck up right now and I have a follow up appointment next week so I’m probably 4 thousand dollars or so down the drain. Yaaay.
I got super fucking lucky. I’m like 99% sure she was about to bite my fucking throat out when the camera explodedI never did see her get out of the creek though. But there’s no fucking way this killed her that easily. I swear to god things keep getting worse

Uhh… actually it is time for doubt.
If a whole fucking creek lit up with bright green fire in fucking Santa Cruz, CA yesterday… why the fuck are there no news articles about it? It was right next to the fucking ROAD, wasn’t it?
Google “Santa Cruz creek fire”. Hell even just SANTA CRUZ FIRE. Fucking nothing from today or yesterday comes up.
Nothing on the local news website.
Nothing on national news.
No mention of it anywhere else on the internet.
OP… you better start explaining yourself reeeeeeeal quick. ಠ_ಠ
